I am a realist and enjoy painting with both water based oils and acrylics. I have painted more traditional works for years, but am now leaning toward the more contemporary side, just a little. Texture and color are fun and apparent in my latest works while city nightlife and neon colors are often my inspiration. I paint on large hollow wood panels, allowing the texture of the raised gesso and paint to be an integral part of the painting. All of my art is completely original, either from life or my own photographs.

Though I graduated from UGA in graphic design, working as an art director in both Europe and the U.S., I feel compelled to paint, like a bottled up emotion trying to get out and on to a board. Teaching art is also an important part of my life. I enjoy working and inspiring both children and adults.

I am a member of the Chestnut Group, a group of “plein air” artists painting and working to conserve the open land areas in middle Tennessee. I am thrilled to be working with such wonderful and talented artists.
